Christmas Capers

All the boys and girls, the teachers and SNAs have been extremely busy preparing for the Festive Season. Have a look at some of the wonderful work being done in all classes.

Infants:

Senior Infants made polar bears using newspaper and in keeping with the ‘reuse recycle’ theme have created a wonderful Christmas tree from cardboard boxes. Junior Infants designed and created their very own Christmas jumpers, luckily the pesky ‘Elf on the Shelf’ (who has been a constant presence in their room for the last couple of weeks) didn’t get his hands on them!!

First & Second Class:

The children in First and Second class have been learning all about the procedure genre and followed instructions to make their own decorations. These salt dough decorations took quite a while as they were baked in the oven, allowed to cool overnight and then decorated with paint, and glitter, finally a ribbon was attached so they can be hung on a tree. You will all agree that the final results are amazing.

Third & Fourth Class:

The children in 3rd and 4th class have been busy making all sorts of decorations to decorate their classroom. They made 3D cribs using paper – a very effective way to depict the story of The Nativity. They also used wool to weave little sweet baskets for holding sweet treats at Christmas time.

Fifth & Sixth Class:

Fifth and Sixth class boys and girls have been incredibly busy and creative designing and making their very own Christmas decorations. From baubles to Christmas trees, snow globes to reindeer and everything in between they’ve worked with many different mediums to produce an amazing display of all things Christmas. Their work has brightened up the corridors over the last two weeks. I’m sure you’ll agree the end results are truly magical!
