Field trips are a regular occurrence and are woven into subject areas where possible. Whether it’s an historical visit to the local churches and graveyards to do rubbings and etchings on ancient gravestones or an excursion to the local water treatment plant, to see the latest technologies at work, we’re happy to be part of it!
School tours are a highlight at the end of each academic year and with tours that range from adventure centres to science museums and art galleries – there certainly is something for everyone in the audience!
A trademark of Scoil Bhíde is the overnight tour to Donegal Adventure Centre. Every second year the children from 5th and 6th class go on an overnight tour to Bundoran where they partake in activities from Surfing to Rock climbing and Abseiling. It is a special treat for the senior classes and for some, is a rite of passage as they move to Post Primary education.
